OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS
Undergraduate Research Assistantships in the School of Nursing:
- Collaborate with faculty members on ongoing research projects
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and literature reviews
- Gain practical research experience while earning academic credit, stipends, or volunteer service
Graduate Research Assistantships in the School of Nursing:
- Assist with writing grant applications and manuscripts for publication
- Gain practical experience in data collection
- Participate in data coding and analyses
- Assist with implementation of grant studies
- Mentoring for research program
Undergraduate and Graduate Research Assistants assist faculty with research and scholarship, generally for ten to twenty hours per week. Students may be paid or may volunteer to obtain experience. Payments vary depending on the number of hours worked and students may receive tuition support depending on academic standing, available funds, and campus approvals.

Available positions typically include tutoring undergraduate Nursing students, assisting with grant activities, or assisting faculty with their research. Stipends are paid monthly.
For academic-year positions, the priority application deadline is March 1. Applications will be considered after this time if positions remain available.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH, SCHOLARSHIP & CREATIVITY OFFICE (URSCO)- CAMPUS
The Undergraduate Research, Scholarship & Creativity Office (URSCO) at UNCG is dedicated to fostering a culture of inquiry, innovation, and academic excellence among undergraduate students. URSCO supports students across all disciplines by providing resources, guidance, and opportunities to engage in research, scholarship, and creative activities. The office provides funding to support student projects and enhance academic and professional advancement.
Lloyd International Honors College
Senior Honors Projects are completed by undergraduate students in their Senior year as the culmination of the student’s Disciplinary Honors experience. As a part of this experience, students may:
- Undertake an original research project as part of the honors program
- Receive guidance from faculty mentors throughout the research process
- Showcase their research findings through presentations and publications
Students interested in engaging in research as a part of their Senior Honors Project should speak to their Honors Liaison well in advance of beginning the Senior Honors Project.
