Gamma Zeta Chapter of Sigma

The Gamma Zeta Chapter was chartered on October 4, 1976, as the 76th chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. It came the same year that the graduate program in the UNCG School of Nursing was launched and the Moore Building was named. The chapter started 10 years after the School of Nursing started its baccalaureate nursing program. Since being chartered, more than 900 members have been inducted into Gamma Zeta with 450 members being active at this time.
