Dr. Anders's research is aimed at improving the infant feeding experience for parents who pump human milk. She studies how to improve comfort and efficiency of milk expression along with parents' experiences of infant feeding. She is currently collaborating with breast pump accessory experts to determine appropriate breast pump flange/breastshield fit to optimize comfort and milk removal. Her work can be found in peer-reviewed journals, and she will present her research on human milk expression knowledge and information needs of lactation professionals at the United States Lactation Consultant Association national conference in fall of 2022.
Dr. Anders is active in professional organizations such as the Triangle Breastfeeding Alliance and has partnered with the YWCA to provide breastfeeding education to members of the Greensboro community.
