Gamma Zeta Chapter
Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing

Welcome to Gamma Zeta Chapter !

Gamma Zeta Chapter was chartered on October 4, 1976 as the 76th chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, ten years after the opening of the Baccalaureate Nursing Program at UNCG, the year the Graduate Program in nursing was started and the year Moore Building was named. Since being chartered, over 900 members have been inducted into Gamma Zeta with 450 members being active at this time. Gamma Zeta has been the recipient of the prestigious Chapter Key Award four times: 1991, 1993, 1997 and 2007.

Gamma Zeta is a very active Chapter. The following Committees carry out the mission Of STTI and the daily work of our Chapter. We need members to volunteer to be an active member of one of these Committees.

  • Membership Committee
  • Leadership Succession Committee
  • Governance Committee
  • Awards Committee
  • Ruth P. Council Committee
  • Development Committee
  • Archivist Committee
  • Newsletter Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Community Service Committee

Contact any Board member to find out about the work of these committees and join! This is the best way to realize the benefits of membership in STTI and GZ.

Gamma Zeta inducts new members during the fall semester each year. A Newsletter is published once in the fall and once in the spring. The Chapter holds at least three scholarly meetings each academic year. Any nurse or nursing student is invited to attend the meetings.
Visit the Meetings Link on this site for the schedule of membership meetings.
