The Association of Nursing Students is the only professional organization for nursing students in the United States. The purpose of ANS is to exchange ideas in an effort to promote high education standards, unify nursing students on this campus, encourage broader involvement in state and national levels, and increase students’ awareness and participation in the health care system.
Local membership is $5 for the year and National membership is $30 for the year. By joining North Carolina Association of Nursing Students and National Student Nurses Association, students are able to be competitive in today’s job market. Active members are provided with the needed resources to the best in the profession. National membership entitles individuals to receive the Hypodermic and Imprint publications. Membership also entitles individuals eligibility for scholarships and many discounts. Some of the activities include student-faculty receptions, state and national conventions, social activities, community and school projects, educational programs, and legislative updates.
