Carol Blue

Dr. Carol Blue. Dr. Blue, professor in the Department of Community Practice Nursing, died May 12, 2013 from a brief health crisis. She joined UNCG School of Nursing in 2004 and taught in the PhD and MSN programs, with a focus on health promotion and prevention research and theory. She was a Certified Health Education Specialist, a long-time member of the American Public Health Association, co-editor of the book Public Health Nursing: Policy, Politics and Practice and a thirty year member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Ball State University in 1969, her Master of Science in Health Education/Health Promotion in 1978, Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana University in 1985 and her PhD in Nursing from the University of Illinois in 1996. Prior to joining the UNC Greensboro faculty, Dr. Blue served as a faculty member at Purdue University and a staff nurse in various Indiana communities.

The funeral will be in Indiana. A memorial service is being planned for colleagues, family and friends in Greensboro during the month of June (TBA).

Dr. Blue will be dearly missed by School of Nursing and UNCG faculty, staff, and students.
