Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion
The School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro is committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment for all students, staff, and faculty regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language, nationality, abilities/disabilities, sexual/affectional orientation and socioeconomic status. The Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion serves as a resource/liaison within the School of Nursing as well as between the School and the University on matters pertaining to equity, diversity and inclusion. Specifically, the Committee functions to:
- Promote an inclusive environment that affirms the diversity of faculty, staff and students by offering equal access and opportunity to all School of Nursing community members
- Provide educational opportunity to all School of Nursing community members.
- Promote diversity in educational programs, faculty and student recruitment, and research development.
- Recommend recognition of outstanding achievements related to equity, diversity and inclusion in teaching, research and services to the School of Nursing and the larger community.
The Committee membership consists of representatives from each of the three departments in the School of Nursing along with staff and student representatives. The Committee strives for broad diversity in its membership.
