Do I need to be admitted to the Graduate School in order to take classes?
You can take 500 level courses as a Visions non degree seeking student, but you must be admitted to the Graduate School to enroll in 600 level courses in the School of Nursing. You must be admitted to the Graduate School in order to complete certificate or degree programs.
How do I apply for the Graduate Program in Nursing?
You can apply to the Graduate Program in Nursing by accessing the following website: http://www.uncg.edu/grs.
What will my graduate education cost?
You can access the most recent student tuition and fee schedule by going to the UNCG financial aid website,http://fia.uncg.edu, and selecting costs on the left side menu. Scroll to the end of this site for the current costs for the semester.
How do I find the class schedule?
The class schedule is found by going to http://www.uncg.edu; select UNCGenie; and select Class Schedule. You will be guided for a particular semester and department from that site.
How do I register for classes?
Once you are admitted, an email will be sent to you with instructions for registration. You also may linked to these at the Graduate School website, http://www.uncg.edu/grs, and the Registrar´s website, www.uncg.edu/reg; select Registration on the menus for this information.
Who can advise me about my class schedule?
A graduate faculty member in the School of Nursing will be assigned to advise you when you are admitted to the program. Additionally, the Director of Graduate Study in the School of Nursing can answer questions for you.
How many credit hours may be transferred?
Up to one-third of the program of study may be transferred if the course description matches the UNCG course description, a B or above grade is earned in the class; and the course is taken within the 5-year timeframe required to earn the degree. The course must be approved by the Director of Graduate Study in the School of Nursing and the UNCG Graduate School. An official transcript with the course grade must accompany the transfer form found at http://www.uncg.edu/grs; select current students; select forms. The completed form and transcript should be sent to the Director of Graduate Study in the School of Nursing.
